Today marks the last day of the year 2011. A period of time, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525600 mins, 31536000 secs is all ready to be over or is it?
The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While the former refers to chronological or sequential time of normal life, the latter signifies moments of opportunity, the right time for something to happen. These moments make it clear that we are a part of something much bigger than ourselves. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven - Ecc. 3:1.
God is able to work mightily through people, who are able to capture such moments and act in obedience to His leading for a significant change in their lives and in the lives of others.
One such moment is NOW, the last day of the year, where regrets, reflections, thanksgivings and aspirations are to be brought before the Lord so that the new year will be another significant season of your life in the purposeful hands of God.
Ephesians 5:15-17
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time (kairos), because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
